13.2. Check of a free wheeling of a steering wheel
PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Switch off the engine and establish a steering wheel in average situation. Then turn a steering wheel to the left and to the right before situation in which resistance is felt. The free wheeling of a wheel measured on its edge, should not exceed 30 mm. The raised free wheeling indicating the wrong adjustment of steering transfer, results in wear of hinges of an intermediate shaft of a steering column, and also tips of steering drafts or spherical hinges.
2. For check of hinges of a steering column several times to the touch check люфт in bottom кардане on the floor panel. Люфт between the bottom hinges connecting a steering column to shaft gear wheel on the panel of a floor, it is transferred in knot of a steering column.
3. Lift over the wheel earth from both parties and check drafts. Check, whether there is no vibration in a wheel. To check correctness of adjustment of bearings of forward wheels, establish wheels average situation, then ask the assistant to hold the bottom hinge of a steering column from within the car and check люфт wheels in the parallel direction. At existence люфта in the parallel direction check a gap in a tip of steering draft or an inhaling in connection with a rotary pin.
4. If the gap in a tip the helmsman of draft is absent, люфт wheels in the parallel direction can be caused by wear of steering draft and the spherical hinge or too big gap between a gear wheel and a gear lath. In all these cases make dismantling, adjustment, repair or replacement of steering transfer.
