The automatic transmission consists of the hydrotransformer, planetary transfer, and also coupling and brakes with a hydraulic and electric drive.

The torque from the engine to a transmission is transferred via the hydrotransformer which carries out function of liquid coupling and operates as automatic coupling, also provides torque transfer at acceleration.

Management of an automatic transmission is made by the block of electronic control. The electronic block on the basis of more extensive information sets an optimum operating mode of a transmission for each operational mode. For management of a transmission there are no the modes switched manually, such as economic and sports. The control unit on the basis of information on speed of movement of the car, the provision of a pedal of an accelerator, and also a manner of movement chooses the corresponding transfer. Also at the moment of gear shifting traffic conditions, existence of the trailer and a wind influence.

If it is faulty any of sensors or magnetic the valve, there is a control unit switching by a transmission on emergency operation, and malfunction registers in memory of the block.
Car towage with an automatic transmission on wheels is authorized to be made on distance to 50 km with the maximum speed of 50 km/h.

The transmission represents very difficult unit and repair it it is necessary to make in a specialized workshop. Before repair of a transmission it is necessary to define nature of malfunction which can be electric, mechanical or hydraulic.

Do not remove a transmission from the car for repair before malfunction as the majority of tests demands that the transmission was in the car will not be professionally revealed.
