11.13. Situation sensor

Working capacity check

1. Check that the starter works only when a key in the switch of ignition will turn in the situation START when moving the lever of switching of transfer to a range of "R" or "N".
2. Check inclusion of lamps of a backing at key turn in the ignition switch in a position it is INCLUDED.
3. At misoperation check the situation sensor.

Check of conductivity of a chain

1. Disconnect the socket from the situation sensor.
2. Check conductivity between sensor contacts in various positions of the lever of the selector.


Conductivity of the sensor of situation changes with temperature owing to availability of greasing in it. Specially check conductivity of chains at low temperatures as viscosity of greasing at low temperatures is increased.

3. If the sensor of situation does not satisfy to technical characteristics, replace it.


1. Move the lever of switching of transfer to "N" range.
2. Turn out bolts of fastening of the sensor of situation.
3. Combine assembly labels on the situation sensor.
4. Tighten bolts.

Inhaling moment: 19,6–29,4 N • m

5. Once again check conductivity of chains of the sensor of situation.
6. At negative result replace the situation sensor.
