19.15. Parking brake

GENERAL INFORMATION

1–casing;
2–adjusting nut;
3–returnable spring;
4–forward cable of the parking brake;

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Be convinced of that the course of the lever corresponds to the value specified below at its raising with effort of 98 N (10 kgfs).

Course: 5–7 clicks

Adjustment


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Before adjustment start up the engine and several times press a brake pedal at car movement by a backing.
2. Switch off the engine.
3. Turn out a bolt and uncover the lever of the parking brake.
4. Take a clip of an adjusting nut and turn an adjusting nut ahead of a lay cable.
5. After adjustment execute the following checks:

– include ignition, lift the brake lever on one click and be convinced that the control lamp lit up;
– be convinced of absence of jamming of a back brake.

Removal and installation

Prevention

Adjust a course of the lever of the parking brake.

Several times press a pedal of a brake and be convinced of absence of jamming of back brakes at wheel rotation manually.


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Removal carry out in the sequence shown in drawing.
2. Check a condition of all details and, if necessary, repair or replace them.
3. Installation carry out to sequences, return shown in drawing.
