19.20. Hydraulic control unit (HCV)

GENERAL INFORMATION

The hydraulic HCV control unit consists of the pump with an electric motor and the klapanny block for management of pressure of ABS. The sensor is located in the electric motor of the pump and transmits a target signal to the ABS block which defines operability of the pump.

Diameter of a forward opening of a pipe of supply of brake liquid:

Forward left and back right brakes: 12 mm
Forward right and back left brakes: 10 mm


The pump with two contours provides demanded pressure, and the block of valves distributes the pressure transferred to wheel brake mechanisms.


MAIN RELAY

The main relay at the included ignition submits a food on the ABS control unit.


ENGINE RELAY

The engine relay on signals of the ABS control unit submits a food on the pump engine.

DIODE (D 1)

Protects the engine relay from a high voltage when giving food on the pump engine via the engine relay to prevent wear or jamming of contacts.

DIODE (D2)

Includes a control lamp of ABS at disconnection of a chain of the ABS control unit.

ABS SELF-DIAGNOSTICS

The ABS control unit starts the self-diagnostics program after ignition inclusion. Troubleshooting in each chain and in each knot occurs by means of comparison of parameter of system to its limiting value which has been set in the ABS control unit. The ABS control unit keeps a code of malfunction and deduces four figures of this code by means of a control lamp of ABS at connection with the case of a conclusion of ABS of the diagnostic socket.

Check of codes of self-diagnostics

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. At the switched-off ignition connect a wire contact of the L diagnostic socket to a case conclusion.
2. Include ignition and disconnect a wire. The program of self-diagnostics will begin work.
3. Through 1,2 with the ambassador of the beginning of work of the program of self-diagnostics the control lamp will blink once, and still through 2,5 with the conclusion of codes of malfunctions will begin.

Prevention

Code of malfunction are four figures which are continuously deduced while contact of L will not be again connected to the case.

For a conclusion of the following code connect a wire a conclusion of L to the case on 2,5 with, then disconnect a wire.

After a conclusion of all codes the lamp will continuously blink during 2,5 pages.

For the termination of a conclusion of codes of malfunctions connect a wire contact of L to the case not less, than on 2,5 with, then disconnect a wire and switch off ignition.

Information on some malfunctions, being stored in the ABS control unit, can be lost, if the car moved with a speed more than 30 km/h.


4. By the list of codes of malfunctions define faulty knot and repair it according to self-diagnostics procedures.
5. After completion of repair erase the codes of malfunctions which are storing in the ABS control unit.

How to consider codes of malfunctions

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Read out four figures of a code of malfunction on drawing of inclusions and switching off of an alarm lamp of ABS.

Deleting of codes of malfunctions

In the ABS control unit the program of automatic deleting of a code of malfunction which works in two stages is provided.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. It is necessary to execute correctly a conclusion of a code of malfunction and to deduce all kept codes.
2. After shutdown of all connections (a wire, etc.) disperse the car till speed of 30 km/h at the included ignition.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
2. Disconnect the socket from the hydraulic control unit.
3. Disconnect all brake pipelines.
4. Unscrew a nut, then remove the hydraulic control unit.

Installation


PERFORMANCE ORDER
Installation is carried out to sequences, return to removal.

Inhaling moment: 18,6–25,5 N • m


SENSOR OF FREQUENCY OF ROTATION

The sensor of frequency of rotation finds rotation of a wheel and consists of a constant magnet and the reading-out coil. Sensors of frequency of rotation of forward wheels fasten to a power shaft, sensors of frequency of rotation of back wheels – to a spindle of a back nave.


When passing teeths of a rotor about the sensor the magnetic field of the sensor therefore the tension impulse is developed changes. This tension is proportional to frequency of rotation of a wheel, and its period can change. Defining the period, it is possible to obtain data on speed.


CONTROL LAMP OF ABS

The control lamp of ABS located in a combination of devices, lights up on 2 with the ambassador of inclusion of ignition.

If the control lamp of ABS does not die away through 2 with the ambassador of inclusion of ignition or lights up periodically, means in ABS there are violations.

In the presence of violations the brake system works as standard brake system.
